“Wouldn’t be the first time you gave me a black eye,” he said, words barely a mumble because speaking too loudly might break whatever spell they were under. His mind buzzed pleasantly from her proximity and he decided that he could think about this later. Trying to figure anything out was too much effort and would take more time than he had right then. Stopping to get his bearings would end whatever was happening and Cole wasn’t sure he was ready for that yet. Hell, he wasn’t sure he was ready for it to continue either, but once Lillian made up her mind she was going to go through with it regardless, so he might as well go with her. His expression shifted, brows pinching slightly. “We can figure that out later. Why does a change have to be good or bad? It’s just a change, we’ve made it through worse. And if you think I’m letting you go after this, you’re-” his words were cut off by hands on his face and another wave of emotion he couldn’t name. Cole almost gave himself over but discord created static in his mind and he pushed her away gently. “No. You’re not gonna do this and then walk out again. It’s not gonna work that way. Not with you. It feels so goddamn right but you can’t do this to me. I’m already crazy enough without you here, you think this is gonna make it any better?”
‘And I promise it won’t be the last.’ Her eyes were moving frantically, searching his face, gazing into the barely-there-green that was a portal to an entirely different world. She knew this man from the inside out. He was she and she was he. There was no dividing, and now there was no longer that line that held them back, that line that kept them pushed just barely apart – it was gone; she had removed it. ‘Change is always bad, Doc, always.’ Her words were nearly a whisper as she had torn her eyes from his. A heavy sigh weighed down her shoulders as her teeth began biting at the sensitive skin of her lower lip once more. It was a minute when she wasn’t thinking clearly that she did it again, once more she had pulled him to her and she wasn’t willing to let go. Nothing compared to this, she had never felt what she was feeling when they were wound up together. Had she ever been honest with herself, she would have accepted this entire situation ages ago, probably years ago when they had spent days and weeks locked up together. Her mind was his, her heart, her soul, all of it was his and it had been – probably since forever. She’d never know exactly when, she just knew this… well this was trouble.
‘You’ve got to be kidding me-‘ thankfully, Lillian didn’t have time to get into a rant when he pulled away. Slamming a hand down into her thigh into her outrage, her other hand went to her forehead and smoothed back some hair as she took a step back from him with a pivot on her right leg. ‘I CAN’T stay here, you know that. This is no different than that place, goddammit. We were supposed to get out, we were supposed to be free. This wasn’t supposed to happen!’ Her last words weren’t exactly directed toward the new ‘school’ as it was, and she figured he would know that just because he knew her. Her eyes rested on him again and she took in a slow, calming breath. ‘Doc… you can’t honestly stand there and tell me that it feels right – after all this time that that is what we are?’

It’s just tension, stress, complicated. He’s throwing a fit because I’m gone so often - clearly being cooped up here isn’t good for him. He’s taking it out on me.
AnonymousIt was a long time coming. SHIELD was constantly pushing their students to their boundaries, punishing those that weren’t falling into line. The basement became something that was more widely feared among the students. They were cracking down hard - though they played it right, they would keep the visits short - but just as brutal. People slowly started to notice their friends disappearing for longer and longer times. Minds were unraveling, the brainwashing was happening through the school.
The two that knew the basement better than any other were the ones that snapped. It seemed as if they literally traded off days downstairs. One after the other - longer after they had an argument so the other wouldn’t be suspicious when they didn’t show up at night.
Tempers were flaring and snapping. People were slipping further and further out of the grasp of the hive.
It was Cole that started it. Well. He had help. After a particularly long stint for the pair they lost it. They didn’t really have a plan, they were working off of half sanity and they decided it was done, this was over.
With the two attacking the school things escalated quickly. Students and friends turned on one another. People jumped onto sides, powers were being tossed around and before everyone knew it - the school was destroyed.
The program had collapsed, what students were left became full fledged SHIELD members and those that had taken off became fugitives.

AnonymousLet’s see. This is what the grapevine has told me about these people, shall we go? Keep in mind that it is all gossip and speculation and no one can really confirm the activities or the whereabouts of members of the failed project.
Noah Dickens was last seen searching Northern Canada for his father, last word was that the had found them - and the two are bonding fabulously.
Iosif Wright continues to work with SHIELD because he believes in what they originally started out to do. He’s a moral dilemma because technically his father is his own enemy.
Derek ‘Cowboy’ Lancaster suffered through some tough personal issues in his life and has taken to quiet wandering. His current location is unknown.
Bonnie Crowe is one of the higher ups in Adler’s camp. She helps him run things if not runs things completely when he’s down and out. With her seniority she has much say and she’s had plenty of time to master her power.
Belle Tremaine remains faithfully to SHIELD, it’s mission, and the people that helped her get through her difficult times. She is currently attempting to bring the school program back together to help young mutants like herself.
Natasha Romanoff is still partnered with Clint Barton and both are still top agents for SHIELD. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.
